Molded and Extruded Rubber Products

Molded and Extruded Rubber Products

We can provide custom molded and extruded items in solid and cellular form. Our experts can help you determine which polymer type best fits with your application and environment. In addition to rubber in the polymer types below, we can provide other specialty elastomers for molded and extruded items for any application you may have. Please contact us with your custom molded or extruded requirements and allow us to help you create an innovative and effective solution.

Rubber Descriptions

Silicone - High performance elastomer with excellent resistance to heat and cold while retaining its flexibility. Outstanding resistance to compression set and most environmental conditions including weathering, ozone, and oxidation and has high dielectric strength. Poor in steam, ketones, or chlorinated hydrocarbons. Great material for high-temperature gaskets, non-stick surfaces, and almost any high-performance application you have.

Neoprene – All-purpose synthetic rubber with good resistance to oil, gasoline, chemicals, sunlight, ozone, and oxidation. Poor in nitric acids, aromatics, and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Good for gaskets, seals, and surface protection.

EPDM – Great elastomer for outdoor use with excellent resistance to water, weather, UV and ozone. It also has good resistance to heat, acids, alkalis, salts, chlorine solutions and has high dielectric strength. Not good in oils or solvents. Great for almost any outdoor application.

NBR (Nitrile, Buna-N) – Excellent resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, solvents, fuels, petroleum oils, alcohol, and mineral and vegetable oils. Fair acid resistance. Poor in strong oxidizing agents, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones, and esters.

White FDA Rubber – Made with ingredients approved by the FDA (for food handling applications), which also makes it non-marking. Perfect for gaskets and seals in food handling equipment.

SBR – Popular economical, abrasion resistant rubber which has low water-absorption properties. Good in weak organic acids, alcohol, moderate chemicals and ketones. Poor in oils, fats, greases, and hydrocarbons. This is a great material for cushioning and anti-vibration pads and anywhere you need abrasion protection.

Natural Rubber – Extremely resilient and abrasion resistant with high tensile and elongation properties. Good resistance to acids, alkalis, and salts. Poor oil and weathering resistance. Very good product for wipers, pads, and applications where high-resilience is needed.

Viton - Excellent resistance to most fuels and oils and also high temperatures. Also resistant to lubricants, acids, animal and vegetable oils, ozone, weather, and hot water. Great gasketing material for fuel and oil applications and also where you need high-temperature resistance but can’t have silicone contamination.

Fluorosilicone – Excellent temperature and weathering resistance and good resistance to fuels, coolants and oils. Poor resistance to hydraulic fluids and ketones. This product is used when you need the high-temperature resistance of silicone rubber along with resistance to fuels and oils that would damage normal silicones.

Hypalon – Excellent ozone, weather, and abrasion resistance. Good tear resistance. Fair resistance to fuel and oil.

Butyl – Excellent ozone and weather resistance. Very impermeable to air and water. Poor resistance to fuel and oil.

Urethane – Outstanding tensile and abrasion qualities. Excellent resistance to wear, ozone, oxygen, kerosene, and gasoline. Good resistance to chemicals, fats oils, and greases. Not good for ketones and acids.

Epichlorohydrin – Excellent fuel and oil resistance. Good weathering, tear, and abrasion resistance.

Thermoplastic rubber – Very good resistance to chemicals, fatigue and most oils. Different compounds available to meet FDA and NSF requirements.
